Kunzak has been established at the crossroad of business paths. Kunzak was badly affected by a huge fire in 1556 but the 16th century, during the Zacharias from Hradec, was the golden age for the town. Crafts and business evolved. Ponds “Komornik” and “Zvule” were established. But the Thirty Years War brought destruction, soldiers plundered villages, plaque fulminated, fires went far. Kunzak was nearly destroyed in full. It revived again in 1670s with business, weaving and thanks to repaired roads. During the 18th century crafts was on the increase in Kunzak. In 1836 local amateurish theatre started to play and played in Czech!
The church of St. Bartolomej ranks among the most significant buildings here. It has been finished in 1370, after a huge fire in 1556 reconstructed in the Gothic style and after another fires in 1742 and 1808 made into today’s appearance.
